The Essence of the Work
with the Chakra-animals
'It is not my duty to bring a client to develop a relationship to me even if I care for her and am deeply moved of her development. My intent is to help the client develop a special relationship to himself that nourishes and supports his growing,' writes Gallegos in the book The Personal Totem Pole Process and thus emphasizes an important difference to other types of therapy.
Deep respect characterizes the work with the Chakra-animals. We have all the knowledge and wisdom in ourselves. Through the deepness we get into contact with our greatness and lost wholeness. The healing develops from inside out in its own rhythm.
'My task is to help my clients develop an inner contact to their visualizations. After all one of our main problems is the fact that we have lost the connection to the various parts of ourselves. (...) An urgent need is to gather all the parts of who we are and communicate openly with them. Thus all our actions come from a center point that exists in contact and harmony with our whole self.'
During a session in the Personal Totem Pole Process it is possible to meet the Chakra-animals in a deep relaxation, to talk to them and to let oneself be guided by them in an inner journey. The animals guide you with humor, compassion, wisdom and gentleness. Sometimes they confront us with something or challenge us to take difficult decisions or let go of memories of past painful experiences.
Unlike decision making through talks and discussions the solutions found in the Personal Totem Pole Process are experienced and felt and thus can be integrated more easily. In a very gentle way a process of trust into the own deepened perception is developed, a loving and compassionate relationship to the many facets of our being. The communication with the inner beings nourishes the inner and outer well being, leads into the wholeness and supports healing and growing. Thus we can rediscover soul portions that have been lost long time ago and integrate them back into life.

'I was deeply moved by the way in which the Chakra-animals behaved. They seemed to know the inner human dimensions, had access to knowledge neither my clients nor me knew. They knew exactly in which pace the therapy had to take place and interacted in a very subtle and smart way.
Furthermore they were very humorous. They were the most skilful therapists I had ever seen. Not only did they care about healing the client but also to bringing him back into his wholeness.'
