The Beginnings
In 1983 for the first time Steve Gallegos presented the Personal Totem Pole Process® on a symposium in Vancouver. In 1993 the first seminar took place in Germany, attended by 60 participants. Since then the method is spread in many countries. Today Steve Gallegos is the director of the International Institute for Visualization Research and works worldwide as a trainer of imagery guides.
'No description in words can express the aliveness and spontaneity in which this method guides us. Every animal possesses its own distinctive personality. The animals grow quickly, individually and collectively into a valuable inner support program.'
Steve Gallegos
The method has its roots in three
psychological and spiritual traditions:
- C. G. Jung's theories about imagery and collective unconscious
- the belief of Native Americans about inner beings
- the understanding of eastern cultures about the effect of the chakras
